Moving up to a big boy room . . .

One last look at the toddler room . . .

Cleaning, taping, painting
on one of the few hot weekends of summer, of course.

 And . . .

Tada!

Birthdays and summer

June started with Henrik's spring music program at preschool.  Isn't he handsome?

(with his favorite teacher, Ms. Christina)

Henrik received his "big boy room" for his birthday this year.  More to come on that in the next post!

Ida's last day of 1st grade with Mrs. Muscoe was bittersweet.  Ida loved going to Superior Hills, she really loved Mrs. Muscoe, and was really lucky to have such a great teacher!

We left school, went home and packed the car and headed south for a surprise visit for Grandma's birthday (it was a big one!).

Two wheels--wahoo!!

Father's Day was smashed in between a trip to the L.P., Henrik's birthday party and the kids' dance recital.  At least we didn't forget, right?

Henrik's first year of dance was a rousing success.  He not only was a unicorn, but also played cupid in Midsummer Night Dream.  Ida was wonderful, as always!

May shennanigans

May started with dance open house.  Henrik and Ida were both quite eager to show off what they had learned this year.

Chad and Suzanne made another trip to Madison (we love Madison) for great food, great local beer and another crack at the Madison Half marathon.  It was a bit warm but otherwise a gorgeous day for a race!

We even took a quick tour of the capital while there, including the climb to the top of the rotunda for beautiful views of the city.

The kids both started their soccer seasons, and Chad even coached Henrik's team.  It was a great season for all with many skills learned, numerous laughs and plenty of goals scored.

Easter fun

(Psst Ida . . . there's an egg behind you!)

It's hard not to notice the abundance of fleece pjs and warm (sweaters and jackets) Easter-attire.  At least the kids didn't have to wear snow boots to Easter service this year.
