Ida's first (ever) haircut

Before the hair cut . . .
approximately 6 inches came off . . .

The finished product. There wasn't enough to donate to "locks of love", but it was long enough to be used for making a wig at the MGH wig salon.

Happy 2nd birthday Henrik!

Let's just say this was not one of our most successful parties. Henrik was done before the party even started.

After a short nap he was willing to come "help" open his presents, but Ida and her buddy Oliver were kind enough to help out on all the presents he didn't want to open.

Henrik perked up a bit for the big wheel.

We considered the entire weekend part of his birthday and thankfully he was in great spirits other than at his actual party.

The "hired" help built a gorgeous new deck through some adverse conditions (very hot and then quite cool in a matter of 30 minutes, wind, rain, downright cold!).

The birthday celebrations and (gifts) continued. Henrik and Ida both love the Thomas playtent and caboose . . .

and the train tracks and trains!

The great outdoors

Henrik was such a big help with planting trees at camp.

A new pear tree.

Ida was also a big help with the new trees.
Doesn't the lawn look great?

Craft fun with Sandy. Sticky tape, disney and stickers were all a huge hit!

Happy Easter

Henrik seemed to get the idea of an egg hunt pretty quickly.

The kids all ready for church.

Swim lessons and running races

Ida was very excited about her first "running race". Unfortunately what was labelled as a "toddler trot" was really more like an Easter egg hunt. Apparently the timing of the race (the day before Easter) and the 2-3 inches of fresh, wet heavy snow made the difference as it usually is a toddler trot. Ida handled the change pretty well, until she was done and declared "I didn't get to run in the race." Poor kid--hopefully next time . . .

Ida took 6 weeks of swimming lessons. For the most part it went really well. She even jumped into the pool and put her head under the water!
