The kids first book signing

An old friend of Chad's by the name of Steve Wiig was in town for a book signing and was willing to pose with Ida (who was way more thrilled about her new book) and "stinky" Henrik (who had a bomb in his diaper) . . .

. . . which resulted in a diaper change in the trunk of the car.

A little more fun before summer ends . . .

Henrik's new favorite place to sit and "read" books . . . on top of any table he can climb up on before getting caught.
We finally found some Lions apparel for Henrik--we figured if some guy from Munising could walk from Munising to the Lion's practice field the least we could do was buy Henrik some pajamas.

Ida was eager to try out Henrik's birthday gift. Henrik took a swing or two also, but he'll probably not really get the hang of it until next summer.

We took the kids for a hike on Labor Day. Henrik was a bit antsy and not real excited to be stuck in the backpack.

Ida was thrilled! She happily told everyone for a few days that she went for a "hike, hike, hike in the woods."

Trip to Caro

We spent the first afternoon at the mid-Michigan Children's Museum. It was a huge hit for all involved!

Ida's already becomming a good fisherwoman.

The Currys came up to dad's to visit and so we could meet Claire (who was about a week old) on our second day. Patrick took Ida and Cousin Brenden to the park.

Sandy came over to help my dad watch the kids so we could go to Suzanne's reunion. The kids took to Sandy right away and thankfully didn't give her a hassle at bed time!

Summer fun

Cousins Zoe & Quinn came to visit for Art on the Rocks.

Yes, this is actually Lake Superior. One of the first times in a long time that body parts didn't go numb seconds after entering the Lake. It's been a warm summer and the Lake is nearing record high temps.

Henrik had his first real haircut; it was more of a "trim", but he did great!

Trip to Canadian Lakes

We took a pit stop for lunch in St. Ignace--check out that view!

Once in Canadian Lakes, the kids got to go for a ride on Grandma and Bakka's new pontoon boat. Henrik was not nearly as thrilled about it as Ida, but that was probably because he had to wear a life jacket that was as big as him.

Ella, Zoe & Quinn fishing.

Most of the Larsen clan (EJ was sick so he and KT stayed home)

Catching bubbles or butteflies, not sure which.

Ida the "rock star" working the mic.

Awww . . .

We stopped at the Garlyn Zoo on the way home and the animals were a hit!

Check out all those antlers!
