Weekend in Green Bay/Appleton (without kids for the first time ever)

Early tailgaiters parked at Brett Favre's Steakhouse on Saturday morning for the home opener on Sunday. There were actually tailgaters set up Friday evening when we rolled into town--the Packers are serious about their tailgaiting.

Friday night we had a wonderful dinner at Brett Favre's.

Even though we're Lions fans, a trip to Green Bay wouldn't be complete without a quick trip to Lambeau Field.

A very special little boy named Ethan is why we were there in the first place.

The Super E Team (minus Chad who had tendinitis) lined up at the Start of the Fox Cities Half Marathon and ready to go.

Suzanne ran the race with Kevin Carr, who pushed her harder than she was prepared for but it resulted in a great finishing time.

Mile 10--only 3.1 to go!

The kids first book signing

An old friend of Chad's by the name of Steve Wiig was in town for a book signing and was willing to pose with Ida (who was way more thrilled about her new book) and "stinky" Henrik (who had a bomb in his diaper) . . .

. . . which resulted in a diaper change in the trunk of the car.

A little more fun before summer ends . . .

Henrik's new favorite place to sit and "read" books . . . on top of any table he can climb up on before getting caught.
We finally found some Lions apparel for Henrik--we figured if some guy from Munising could walk from Munising to the Lion's practice field the least we could do was buy Henrik some pajamas.

Ida was eager to try out Henrik's birthday gift. Henrik took a swing or two also, but he'll probably not really get the hang of it until next summer.

We took the kids for a hike on Labor Day. Henrik was a bit antsy and not real excited to be stuck in the backpack.

Ida was thrilled! She happily told everyone for a few days that she went for a "hike, hike, hike in the woods."
