Easter fun

(Psst Ida . . . there's an egg behind you!)

It's hard not to notice the abundance of fleece pjs and warm (sweaters and jackets) Easter-attire.  At least the kids didn't have to wear snow boots to Easter service this year.

Spring break, mid-Michigan style

The weather was mostly uncooperative for outdoor activities during spring break so we took a trip to the Children's Museum.

The water table is always a hit (with young and not-so-young alike).

Hey, it's Pete the sugar beet!

We also had a back-road tour of the extensive network of windmills that have been built in mid-Michigan over the last few years.  Having grown up in the area, it's a bit strange to come home and see the skyline so drastically altered.  It was also amazing to see how big and graceful they are.

And a visit by cousins Brenden & Claire (and uncle Patrick & aunt Jodi of course).

This was the first time the kids had gone bowling, and it was a pretty big hit!

Snow caves

One advantage of a crazy-cold winter is that we never had a mid-winter thaw . . . which meant  snow caves!
